As I am writing this, there are less than two weeks remaining until the other seniors and I will be graduating. I thought that one last goodbye to all the students and faculty would be an appropriate final editorial. So, here it goes.

I have attended Parkersburg Catholic for the past five years, and in that amount of time, I’ve grown very attached to this school. Whether it be the faculty and the teachers or the other students, I’ve felt welcomed by everyone here from the moment I arrived. I felt lucky, because I know that other schools may never be that welcoming to their students and I realized that is one way we are special.

I made some amazing friends over the years that I’ve attended this school. Some of those friends have already graduated, some of them I will be leaving behind this year, and others will be leaving at the same time as me. I hope that I can continue to be friends with those people, even after we have gone our separate ways and that they know what an impact they have made on my life.

I’d like to thank everyone for being there, not just for me, but for all the students and for our families. I will always hold some fond memories of this place, and I hope that everyone who has ever been a part of this community can agree with me on that. So, thank you, good luck, and goodbye.

Good-Bye, PC!

“There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads; afraid, confused, without a roadmap. The choices we make in those moments will define us for the rest of our days. Of course, when faced with the unknown, most of us prefer to turn around and go back. But once in a while people push onto something better. Something found just beyond the pain of going it alone, and just beyond the bravery and courage it takes to let someone in, or to give someone a second chance. Something beyond the quiet persistence of a dream. Because it's only when you're tested that you discover who you truly are. And it's only when you're tested that you discover who you can be. The person you want to be does exist, somewhere on the other side of hard work, faith and belief. And beyond the heartache and fear of what lies ahead…”- Lucas Scott, One Tree Hill.
